Winners revealed in OUR FIRST Glorious Gardens competition

More than 20 customers submitted a total of 40 photos in our keenly contested Glorious Gardens competition this summer.

Launched on The Hub, there were two categories for customers to enter – Best Containers and Best Garden.
All the entries were judged by a panel made up of Longhurst Group colleagues and a representative of Tradepoint who helped secure prizes.

Winners in each category received £100 in B&Q vouchers, second place got £75 in vouchers, third position received £25 and fourth place won some garden lighting.

“It’s very rewarding after putting so much effort into my garden.”

Meanwhile, Susan in Gainsborough was our runner-up in Best Containers and she said:

“I’ve not won anything in a very long time, so this news is lovely to hear!”

Becky Budge, Customer Engagement Officer, said the competition had proved very popular.

She added: “It’s been really lovely to see our customers get involved in the Glorious Gardens competition and we’ve all enjoyed looking at the brilliant pictures they’ve submitted.

“It’s clear that many of our customers take great care and pride in their gardens.

“I’d like to thank everyone who sent in pictures as part of the competition and also to our judges who took time out of their day to pick the winners.

“We’ve had a poll open on The Hub asking if we should make this an annual competition and a staggering 94 percent have voted yes, so keep a look out for more information for next year.

“I can’t wait to see the entries then!”

Glorious Gardens will return next year – keep an eye on The Hub for further information. A selection of the winning images from this year can be seen on this page.
