Growth and Development Update – April 2022

Growth and Development update – April 2022

In our latest Growth and Development newsletter we share our key development news and highlight our areas of focus and growth aspirations.

2021/22 was a record-breaking year for the Growth & Development team at Longhurst Group. Working across the Midlands and East of England we:

  • Completed 679 new homes, our largest development programme to date
  • Generated a sales income of over £22 million, from the sale of 221 shared ownership homes and a further £9 million from asset sales, staircasing and right to buy
  • Approved 25 new sites which will deliver over 800 new homes.

As well as the sheer scale of our programme, 2021/22 saw us take further steps to meet the Future Homes Standard by focusing on new technology and solutions. Building on our experience of using air source heat pump technology, we've gone further with two pilot studies featuring a ground source heat pump solution in Huntingdon and Boston. This will provide valuable user and cost data across nearly 200 properties.

None of this would've been possible without the relationships we've developed across the supply chain and working in partnership with local authorities, developers and consultants. We hope that 2022/23 will be another record breaker but we'll only be able to achieve this with your help and our dedicated team continuing to deliver such great results.

Marcus Keys, Executive Director of Growth and Development
