Data Controller

Purpose of the processing
We'll use the details provided by you in this application to assess your application for a tenancy with us and to assess your ability to meet the costs of sustaining the tenancy. We'll also use the information to support our housing management services which'll include, but is not limited to, rent collection, repairing and maintaining your home, estate management and prevention or investigation of anti-social behaviour. How we collect your data
We collect the majority of your personal data directly from you. On occasion, we may make enquiries about this application which may include contacting local authorities, housing associations, other landlords, police and probation, doctors, social workers and other care professionals for relevant information so we are able to administer our housing and support services to you in a safe and secure manner. You'll be informed of any information received about you from a third party source. We may contact a credit reference agency to check for housing related debt such as rent arrears or repairs. If this credit referencing links your name to other addresses, these addresses may also be checked.
Where we need to collect personal data by law, or under the terms of a contract we have with you, and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the contract we have or are trying to enter into with you.
Recipients of your data
We'll share information within our Group as part of our regular reporting and monitoring activities, to achieve the purposes listed above and in accordance with our Privacy Statement. We may also share information with other third parties where we're permitted to do so under data protection legislation, such as where your safety or the safety of others is at risk. Specific third parties include Experian Limited (for credit scoring/referencing), Department for Work and Pensions and local authorities (for fraud prevention purposes).

Transfers to countries outside EEA
We share your personal data within the Group. This'll involve transferring your data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where this occurs we ensure a similar degree of protection is afforded to such data which is detailed within our Privacy Statement.
Retention of your application

Your rights
Under certain circumstances, by law you have the right to:
- Request access to your data.
- Request corrections to the data that we hold about you.
- Request erasure of your data. You also have the right to ask us to delete or remove your data where you have exercised your right to object to processing (see below).
- Object to our processing of your data. This is an absolute right if we're using your data for direct marketing.
- Request the restriction (or suspension) of processing of your data.
- Request the transfer of your data to another party.

No fee is usually required unless your request for access is unfounded or excessive.
