Find out more about how we can help you move home

Home from Home Service

The Home from Home Service aims to reduce some of the barriers to moving by easing the pressure and concerns of the moving process on both new residents and their families.

We are dedicated to making sure that those who need a new home within an assisted living setting are ready to make the move.

What is the Home from Home Service?

We provide a range of services that can be arranged from the moment a place at Willow Court is accepted. Every resident who moves into the scheme will be offered three services free of charge to help ensure that everyone has a comfortable first night:

  • One hour’s use of our own handyperson in order to put up curtains and other essential items.

  • Assistance to ensure your bed is made and essential toiletries are accessible and any medication is arranged accordingly.

  • Assistance to check you have all of the essential goods to make refreshments and any light snacks.

Additional Services

We can also offer additional services to help you transition into your new home. These services are charged individually and at a competitive rate.

Additional use of our handyperson - Our handyperson can assist with putting up lightshades, shelves, pictures and building furniture.

De-cluttering service - A member of staff will visit your current home and assist with de-cluttering before your move. This can include helping you to decide which items to take and which items to gift to local charities or dispose of.

Home decoration assistance - Our interior design team will offer help and assistance on where best to place your existing items in your new apartment, as well as giving help and advice about new items you may want to purchase.

Networking - We will connect you with other organisations, such as Age UK, that can advise on moving costs and help you find a local approved removal firm.

Meet and greet – A member of our team greets your removal firm at the scheme, unpacks your items and disposes of all moving materials. You will be able to take advantage of getting some lunch or a coffee in our restaurant. When you return, your flat will be well organised and ready to move into. This service will require pre-discussion so we get this right for you.

Please note this service is optional and you do not need to take up the service if you do not require it.
