How does Shared Ownership work?
Shared Ownership is a flexible and affordable way to get onto the property ladder in Cambridgeshire. How it works is – you would buy a share in your home, typically between 10% and 75%, and then pay an affordable rent on the remaining share.
Overtime, if your circumstances change, you could purchase more shares in your home through a process called staircasing. If your lease allows you could purchase 100%, meaning you would then own your home outright.
Shared Ownership makes it easier to put down roots in Cambridgeshire, with lower deposits, manageable monthly costs and a clear, achievable path onto the property ladder.Â
We’re excited to be bringing multiple new developments to Lincolnshire, and we can’t wait to show you around. Click on a location below to explore available homes, pricing and eligibility details.

Shared Ownership FAQs?
Shared Ownership is a government backed scheme, designed to help people get onto the property ladder. It’s a flexible and an affordable way to buy, if you’re unable to buy a home outright on the open market. With Shared Ownership, you would purchase a share in your property and pay an affordable rent on the remaining share.
Shared Ownership is mainly aimed at first time buyers. However, you may still be eligible for a Shared Ownership home if you’ve owned a home in the past. To be eligible, your household income can’t exceed £80,000 per year, and you can’t currently own a property in the UK or another country.
To chat about your specific circumstances and find out if you’re eligible, you can contact our friendly team of New Homes Officers by calling 0345 601 9095.Â
It’s great to hear you’re interested in viewing the properties. As our Shared Ownership are new builds, it depends on the stage of build as to whether you can view them in person. For safety reasons, we’d be unable to book viewings for properties that are still undergoing construction.
Once they’re built, we’d be happy to show you around. Make sure you’ve registered your interest for the development on our website and let us know you’d like to view them. We work with a number of estate agents to facilitate in person viewings. Â
Initial shares for your Shared Ownership home can start from 10 or 25%, and increase to 75%.
Over time, if your circumstances change, you can purchase more shares in your home through a process called staircasing. Â
If your lease allows, you can staircase up to 100% ownership, meaning you would own the home outright. Some leases are subject to a staircasing restriction, however if this applies to you it will be clearly outlined in your lease and will be thoroughly explained during the application process. Â
The first step to reserving your new Shared Ownership home, is to register your interest on our website. By completing your details online, our New Homes Team will then be able to contact you with some more information. If you’ve found a home you’d like to reserve, that’s fantastic – let our New Homes Team know which one you’re interested in and they’ll send you details on how to apply.
Upon application, you will need to provide some supporting documents, including your ID. Applications will be reviewed by our team and if successful, you will need to pay a reservation fee to reserve your home. Â
