Longhurst Group ranked in top 50 biggest builders in housing sector

Longhurst Group has once again been ranked in the top 50 largest builders in the housing sector.

We’ve been listed as the 28th biggest builder in a survey carried out by Inside Housing magazine after completing a total of 568 new homes during 2019/20.

The development of these homes represents an investment of more than £80 million.

In total, from 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2025, we are aiming to complete more than 3,500 new homes.

Executive Director of Growth and Development, Marcus Keys, said: “It’s brilliant to see that our development programme once again puts as us one of the largest builders in the housing sector.

“We are committed to investing in and delivering new homes and, as outlined in our Improving Lives 2025 strategy, we are working hard with our partners to deliver these homes in areas where they are most needed.

“We continue to have an ambitious development programme that will continue to provide high-quality homes that people want to live in, while helping to make a real difference in our communities.

“Colleagues across the Group work hard to achieve our vision and our target for new homes in 2020/2021 further demonstrates our investment commitment and dedication to improving lives.”

We have recently completed the 36-home Ellison Place development in Lincoln on the site of the city’s former dairy on Boultham Park Road. The affordable development has 19 properties available on a Shared Ownership basis, with the rest being made available for Affordable Rent.

Meanwhile, our Bluebell Place development in Eye Green, near Peterborough, is also nearing completion, with a number of homes sold off-plan.

These are just a couple of examples of our development plans becoming a reality.

The 568 homes completed by Longhurst Group in 2019/20 were split equally between affordable home ownership and rented tenures, with a small number for outright market sale.

More than 250 of the properties were built using modern methods of construction.
