Extra funding from Homes England to help build more new homes

Amplius has been awarded nearly £20 million of extra funding by Homes England to help us build more homes.

We’ll receive an additional £19,976,550 from the government's housing and regeneration agency through our strategic partnership.

This will allow us to build an extra 187 homes.

Of this, more than £3 million will go to our delivery partner LACE Housing, which will build 27 of the extra homes as supported housing for older people.

Marcus Keys, Chief Development and Commercial Officer, said: “This additional strategic partnership funding is very welcome and will help us to deliver even more affordable homes where they’re needed most.

“We have an ambitious development programme to build 1,000 new homes each year, so to have this support from Homes England through extra grant funding will help us maintain that momentum, as we wait for the new Social and Affordable Homes Programme to be launched this autumn.

“By providing mixed tenure developments, we’re giving local people the opportunity to either have good quality, affordable rented accommodation or to take their first step on the property ladder through Shared Ownership.

“We’ll continue to deliver such developments and provide the much-needed affordable housing and I’d like to thank Homes England for showing faith in our plans by allocating us the extra funding to help us do this.”

We’ll receive a total grant of £144,826,068 through the Strategic Partnership 2021-26 programme from Homes England, which will be used to fund the delivery of 1,777 homes.

Ruth Ryan, Assistant Director - Affordable Housing Grant Provider Management at Homes England, added: “As the government’s housing and regeneration agency, increasing the supply of quality affordable homes remains one of our key objectives, and we are committed to supporting Amplius to achieve their ambitions.

“Funding from Homes England will support the delivery of an extra 187 much-needed homes.

“This strategic partnership is a prime example of how we are working with partners to achieve our ambition of creating thriving communities that people can be proud to call home.”
