Rent a Garage

Garages are for the storage of your vehicle(s). We have a waiting list for people who want to rent a garage from us.

Important Information

If our waiting list opens again and you want to rent a garage, please remember the following:

  • You must pay your garage rent by Direct Debit.
  • You will need to pay a four week deposit when you sign up.
  • You don’t need to be an Amplius customer to apply.
  • Anyone 18 or older can apply.
  • Garage rent amounts are reviewed every year.
  • You are responsible for anything you store in the garage. 
  • You should make sure you have the right insurance.
  • We are not responsible if your items get damaged.

You must not store petrol, gas bottles (like Calor gas), or anything dangerous in the garage. You also cannot store fridges or freezers there.

Why we might say no to a garage application

We may not offer you a garage or hardstanding if:

  • You owe us any money. This includes debts from a current or past Amplius tenancy. It also applies to anyone living in your household.
    • We will not consider your application until the debt is fully paid.
  • There are other problems with your tenancy. This could include things like:
    • a complaint of anti social behaviour (ASB)
    • a record of being rude or abusive to our staff
    • giving false information to get a tenancy.

Ending your garage tenancy

If you want to give up your garage, you must tell us in advance. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Pay any money you still owe for your garage.
  • Give us at least one week’s notice. Garage tenancies end on a Sunday. 
    • For example, if you let us know on a Thursday that you want to end your agreement, it will finish on the next Sunday (so 10 days later).
  • Fill out a ‘garage notice to quit’ form and send it back to us. We will give you this form when you tell us you want to end your garage tenancy.

If you don’t return the completed form, your garage tenancy will continue and we will keep taking payments.
