What not to flush
When certain items are flushed down the toilet, they can cause
problems in our homes, the drains and to the environment.
Please don’t flush ‘flushable’ toilet wipes as many of these contain plastics and don’t break down in the sewer system causing blockages and environmental issues.
The items below should NEVER be flushed down the toilet:
- Cotton buds
- Baby, facial, ‘flushable’ toilet wipes and kitchen wipes
- Kitchen roll
- Facial cleansing pads
- Cotton wool or balls
- Used toilet roll tubes
- Nappies
- Tampons and applicators
- Sanitary towels
- Medication
- Plasters
- Cigarettes
