Katie’s role as Tenancy Sustainment Officer helps customer tackle personal issues
A customer who was struggling to keep his flat organised has praised the support of one of our new Tenancy Sustainment Officers who’s helped him get back on track.
David Smith* lives in Peterborough and was referred to our TSO Katie Altham by his Housing Officer Estelle Sisam after she’d visited him and noticed he was struggling with some things.
These struggles included David not being able to find the motivation to sort things out in his flat and dealing with other external problems.
As well as the help and support of Katie, David has also accessed Insight Healthcare for some mental health support.
David said: “Katie put me in touch with Insight Healthcare and it’s been really helpful having the opportunity to work through how I think and working on changing the way I think and deal with things.
That and working with Katie has been very helpful. It’s helped me break things down into manageable chunks and given me the motivation to get things done.
“The support from Katie has been fantastic and the issues I had don’t look as bad as they did before.
I’m definitely making steady progress with the situation. I’ve also got external family issues going on as well which we’re working around whilst tackling my personal issues, but all the support I’m getting makes me feel good because I realise I’m able to deal with several big issues at the same time.
“I’d like to say thank you very much for all you’ve done to Katie. Her help has been incalculable to me and I’d recommend her and the other Tenancy Sustainment Officers to other people.
“Katie is very understanding and non-judgemental about your personal issues and just looks for answers to your problems.”
Longhurst Group currently offers tenancy sustainment support to our customers in the North East Lincolnshire, East Northamptonshire and Peterborough areas.
The service is designed to work alongside teams to offer in-depth housing support to our general needs customers that are affected by a range of issues that may impact on their ability to sustain their tenancy.
