De Havilland Gardens is our new development in the rural village of Bury, close to the market town of Huntingdon.

De Havilland has a strong heritage with aircraft, so why was the development named De Havilland Gardens?
The name De Havilland Gardens was inspired by the British aviation pioneer Geoffrey De Havilland, who was perhaps most famously known for his twin engine, multi combat aircraft the Mosquito.
Constructed predominantly of wood, the Mosquito soon earned its nickname of ‘Wooden Wonder’ and was one of the fastest aircrafts of its kind.
The Mosquito was introduced during the Second World War and it’s understood that this iconic aircraft sailed the skies above RAF Upwood, which lies a mere stone’s throw away from the De Havilland Gardens development.
Can you tell us about De Havilland Gardens and what homes you’ll be offering?
At De Havilland Gardens, we’ve a selection of two and three bedroom semi-detached homes available for Shared Ownership.
Shared Ownership is a fantastic scheme that allows customers to get onto the property ladder. Generally speaking, Shared Ownership allows customers with smaller deposits and lower household incomes to purchase a share in a property, whilst paying an affordable rent on the remainder.
Furthermore, once you’ve bought a share in your property, there’s always provision to purchase more should you be in a position to do so, via a process called staircasing.

Bury is a stunning village, can you tell us what the local area offers?
Bury is a charming village that boasts an array of historical features and culture. For instance, although now modernised, there’s still remanence of the quaint thatched cottages that once lined the village streets, a design popular in 17th century architecture.
In addition, the striking village Church stands tall just north of Bury Hall, which was built in the mid-19th century by Abraham Staffurth.
Just opposite, you’ll find the Old Manor House which has been beaming full of history and culture since it’s construction in the late 16th century. But don’t be fooled, the quiet village of Bury isn’t just a hotspot for historians, there are also a variety of modern day amenities such as local shops, a supermarket, a public house, a primary and secondary school and much more.
Ideally located, the village of Bury offers residents the charm of rural living with the added convenience of excellent transport links to Cambridge and Peterborough city centres, providing an ample selection of restaurants, shopping centres and entertainment venues.
