Developing Homes

We are committed to providing new homes as we recognise the challenges and pressures that the national shortage of suitable homes is presenting people with. In the East Midlands house prices are now seven times the average local salary while in the West Midlands one in five people claiming housing benefit are also in work.

Read more about the housing crisis the UK is facing in the National Housing Federation’s Home Truths report.

With a focus on providing choice, we deliver a wide range of homes that meet a broad range of needs. Creative solutions enable us to continue to diversify the range of tenures under development; providing starter homes, shared ownership and market rent properties as well as retirement options and homes for affordable rent amongst others.

Ambitious Goals

Moving into new markets and geographies we are delivering more homes than ever before as we play our part in ending the housing crisis. Longhurst Group supports the National Housing Federation’s Yes to Homes campaign and has plans to complete 2,500 new homes by 2019.

In 2015 we were listed as one of Inside Housing’s 50 Biggest Builders, ranking in the top 30 for both completions and pipeline plans.  Our scheme, Windsor Avenue in Peterborough, was also named as one of the magazine’s top 60 developments of the year.

Funding our Growth Programme

Strong financial planning supports our development programme. We recently secured £25 million of funding in the form of a reserve bond negotiated as part of the Group’s £250 million debut bond issue in July 2012. In 2014 we obtained £17.8 million grant allocation on behalf of the Blue Skies Consortium as part of the HCA’s Affordable Homes Programme 2015 -18. We continue to bid on behalf of consortium members through the Continuous Market Engagement programme.

We are actively seeking new opportunities to grow, working with new and existing partners. Contact us to discuss partnership opportunities.
