Welcome to Longhurst Homes

Longhurst Homes Limited (a charitable industrial and provident society) is widely recognised as one of the leading housing associations in the East Midlands. Registered with the Housing Corporation in 1971 as a not-for-profit housing association, we have over 30 years housing experience. We have expanded from managing approximately 800 homes in 1987 to over 5,000 now.

We now work in nearly 30 local authority areas in Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Cambridgeshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire, and provide services to approximately 15 agencies.

Like the majority of housing associations, we work under the control of a voluntary unpaid Board of Management, which is made up of tenants, Councillors and independent people who have the required skills and knowledge.

Longhurst's activities are varied. As well as our general needs stock, around a quarter of the overall stock is for older people.

We manage:

• Approximately 3,500 general needs homes for rent, for young people, families, disabled people, and older people, including sheltered schemes
• Over 700 leasehold properties for older people
• Over 350 shared ownership homes
• A range of supported housing schemes operated in partnership with specialist agencies, assisting those with learning disabilities, young people with training requirements, people with physical disabilities, and working with Women's Aid
