Julie Doyle

Julie is Managing Director of Spire Homes. She
is also Deputy Chief Executive of Longhurst Group, working with the
Chief Executive on the Group’s Business Development Strategy.
Julie plays a key strategic role, ensuring the
Group’s provision of excellent services across its areas of
operation and that it continues to grow in its role as a leading,
dynamic provider of new housing and related services.
Julie joined Longhurst Group in 1995,
initially to establish and lead a Contract Services Department.
Between 1995 and 2001, she led the Group’s response to challenges,
tendering for housing management services and directing the housing
contract between Longhurst Housing Association and East
Northamptonshire Council. This resulted with a successful Large
Scale Voluntary Transfer, which created East Northamptonshire
Housing in 2001. The name was subsequently changed to Spire Homes
in 2005.
In 2009 Spire Homes completed a transfer of Rutland County Council
housing stock, having successfully managed the properties since
2006. Once again Julie took the lead on this initiative, in which
customers supported the move with a majority vote of 87%.
She has recently taken Spire Homes to
Charitable Status, which will allow Spire to operate for the
benefit of local communities and ensure that it helps those most in
need. Julie is a member of the East Midlands National Housing
Federation Executive Committee and the National Housing
Federation’s Inbiz initiative. She also chairs Enable, the
Northamptonshire Local Strategic Partnership.
Julie is a committed fundraiser for the
Homeless International charity, having raised a substantial amount
of money for the cause over several years. She takes part in its
biennial sponsored treks across Africa, in which participants scale
heights of over 17,500 ft and undergo some of the most extreme
desert conditions on earth.
