As a Non-Executive Director of Longhurst Group and Vice Chairman of the Group Board, Tina helps provide strategic direction for the company and oversee company law such as health and safety. Tina has a great deal of experience in leading business, and her experience has made her a strong strategic thinker, an outstanding manager and leader and, perhaps most importantly, given the company’s ethos, she has worked in a number of successful partnerships with a variety of agencies.

Tina has always had an interest in housing, having lived in Armed Forces’ married quarters and experienced the house renting cultures of Germany and Canada, she has a passion for helping people afford to buy and rent decent homes at affordable levels. Having worked with Longhurst Group whilst in the role of Deputy Chief Executive of Lincolnshire Training and Enterprise Council, she was very pleased to have been asked to join the Board in 2006, in particular for the opportunity it presented to work with the CEO, Bob Walder.

Throughout her career, Tina has always worked closely with the public sector, even when working for private companies. She strives for excellence and finds making a positive difference to people’s lives the most rewarding aspect of any role she takes on. She is proudest of her work as Chief Executive of two Business Links and of Mercian Matrix because it is where she feels that the changes brought about were truly long lasting and successful; helping individuals, businesses and communities.

Her role as Vice-Chair means Tina keeps up-to-date on corporate governance, housing matters and strategic issues affecting the Group. Recently, she has become even more concerned about how government policy and the restrictions to funding will affect the housing sector, especially the tenants and the standard of housing they are provided with.

When she is not working, Tina enjoys skiing, especially when holidaying with her family at Les Gest in the Alps.  She likes most kinds of music but at the moment Sugarland holds a particular lure, but for her, classical music is still hard to beat for pure quality.
