With her impressive business acumen and knowledge, Julie contributes to and supports the strategic direction of Longhurst Group and the sharing of good practice across the organisation, a role that she finds particularly rewarding. Her beliefs that a company’s greatest asset is its staff and her passion for making quality affordable housing available for everyone, makes her an ideal board member for Longhurst Group.
Julie has over 15 years experience working with a variety of organisations at a strategic level and is an expert in Change Management and Strategic Development. Her advice to the businesses she works with includes: business development, personal development, leadership skills and team development.. Achieving results and making a difference are the main aims of Julie’s work and because of this her proudest professional achievement has been her work as Chief Executive of Social Enterprise where she was able to gain positive outcomes for communities and the environment.
Following her work as an Associate Trainer with the National Housing Federation and a number of housing organisations, she registered for the ‘Get on Board’ scheme. The scheme aims to match skilled and experienced candidates to Board member vacancies within the housing sector and through it Julie was able to continue her work in an industry she thoroughly enjoys. She believes that funding for housing is crucial in order to combat the housing crisis and provide homes to decent standards.
Aside from her professional life, Julie enjoys spending time with her son and playing the violin which ties in with her love of classical music. She also harbors a love for Italy because of its beauty.
