In tune with local needs
Strong partnerships and local knowledge are two of the essential
ingredients that make Longhurst Group a successful and growing
organisation.
As a Group, all the members share
our values
so we are united in a shared passion to create communities where
people live positively together. But we know we can only achieve
this goal by working closely with the many individuals and
organisations that influence quality of life in the areas where we
work.
We marked our 10th anniversary as a
Group in 2011, which means we have a long track record of
forging positive partnerships across the public, private and
voluntary sectors, working with organisations small and large.
These include regulators, local authorities, government agencies,
NHS trusts, the police, charities, developers and land owners.
As the map
of our area shows, we work across the Midlands
and the East of England, and our members’ strong presence in
these areas gives us unrivalled knowledge of local needs and
excellent opportunities to create strong, lasting
relationships.
As a major independent housing group, our
focus is naturally on providing homes for people living in the
areas we serve but we are much more than just a
landlord. Through Blue Skies Consortium we are one of the
UK’s top 10 developers of affordable housing and the number one
development partnership in the East Midlands, our Blue Skies Consortium is
delivering a strong programme of new homes for rent and shared
ownership while Keystone
Developments is creating high quality retirement
properties for sale.
We also provide an extensive range of
care and support
to help older and other vulnerable people live as independently as
possible in their own homes or in supported housing.
The diversity of our services and the
commitment to collaboration that our people show throughout the
Group mean we get involved in every aspect of partnership working.
This includes supporting local strategic partnerships to encourage
smarter joint working, sponsoring business awards, giving grants to
community projects, working with customers to develop homes that
suit their specific needs, and helping to reduce crime.
These examples represent a fraction of what we
do. Read more about the positive impact we have on people and
communities in our case
