Lincolnshire County Council has awarded the Blue Skies Consortium
strategic partner status for developing ‘extra care’ provision for
older people across the County.
‘Lincolnshire faces a particular challenge in the years to come’,
said Alan Whyte, Partnerships Director for Longhurst Group. ‘Our
population in the county is growing especially quickly and many
older people have moved here to retire. We lack enough modern and
attractive properties that are designed to free older people up
from the worries of looking after their own home’.
Led by Longhurst Group and Nottingham Community H.A., the Blue
Skies Consortium represents the interests of 16 regional housing
associations, specializing in providing housing and care. The
Consortium has an excellent track record in providing leasehold and
affordable properties for older people, built and managed to
impressively high standards. The Consortium has a non-profit making
ethos that ties in extremely well with a commitment to providing
quality management, care and support.
