Spire Homes’ Natalie Morton has a lot to
be proud of. Since becoming an Estates Officer in May 2010, she has
saved Spire and its tenants over £20,000, through revised contract
tenders and partnership working projects.
For example, joining forces with East
Northants Waste Management (which will now dispose of Spire’s
rubbish and bulky items), means Natalie has saved between £60 and
£80 per clearance. And while working with East Northamptonshire
Council on a new waste programme, Natalie secured a
new contract with the council saving Spire a total of £16,000
per year!
She has in fact worked on many projects,
including a security project to combat anti-social behaviour, a
revamp of the communal laundry areas, new signage on flats,
upgrading external communal areas, and garden and fencing projects.
She is also working on a project aimed at resolving parking
issues.
“I work closely with the Housing
Officers and tenants to identify the projects. It is a great
feeling to see these projects through to completion; from initial
suggestions and ideas prompted during Estate Walkabouts and gleaned
from tenant feedback, to finishing the work and seeing the positive
impact this has on the lives of our tenants and their
communities.” Natalie said.
