A £600 donation from Spire Homes to the HCPT (Pilgrimage Trust)
will help take sick and disabled people, mainly from East Northants
away for a short holiday to Lourdes, France in June.
Twenty-two volunteers and professional helpers will accompany
HCPT (Pilgrimage Trust) who have taken over 250 people from all
backgrounds since 1986. The entire group will be enjoying a change
of scenery across the Channel, staying in purpose-built
accommodation, which offers amazing views of the Pyrenees.
Richard Massey, Group Leader HCPT, said, “The people we take,
almost without exception, come back feeling they have had a trip of
a lifetime. Something they couldn’t have without the specialist
care, help and accommodation the group are able to provide”.
Kath Emtage, who benefited from the holiday last year, said, “I
have such happy memories of my visit to Lourdes last year, we
stayed in accommodation at the foot of the Pyrenees Mountains with
fabulous views. Not only was it a great spiritual experience, but
also the organisers make it a lovely holiday, taking us on outings
and even a picnic up in the mountains. It was a special time spent
in a loving atmosphere”.
All those involved in the trust help raise funds throughout the
year to enable this trip to take place every year.
