Havelok Homes has been working with the Children’s Safety Education
Foundation (CSEF) charity for a number of years by proudly
sponsoring the ‘Respect your life, your choice’ books for Havelock
Academy.
These books are used in
Form 2 Health and Social Education lessons at Grimsby’s Havelock
Academy.
The user-friendly books
are an integral part of health and social education at the school,
teaching students about a range of social issues such as:
· Anti-social
behaviour
· Bullying/Domestic
violence
· Alcohol, drugs
and solvent misuse
· Staying safe
Useful contacts can also
be found in the book, directing children to a range of help, advice
and support agencies.
Yvonne Lowe, Director of
Operations at Havelok Homes, explains why they are proud to sponsor
the ‘Respect’ books: “Working with the community is one of
Havelok’s key priorities. By sponsoring the ‘Respect’ books,
Havelok Homes are not only investing in local education but
tackling anti-social behaviour.”
Mr Sinclair, Director of
Co-Curriculum at Havelock Academy, said: “The books are a vital
tool in teaching students the importance of staying safe and
healthy, equipping them to become strong, independent
individuals.”
Havelok Homes have proudly
sponsored the ‘Respect’ books with local schools for over four
years and with Havelock Academy for the last two years.
