More than £400 has been raised for the local
community following Beechdale’s Christmas Fayre. The money raised,
will go towards funding costumes for the local dance troupe and
contributing towards the cost of their 2012 Summer Fayre.
Community spirit was really high, and with a
great turnout the crowd enjoyed a VIP visit from Father Christmas
and the Christmas poems being recited. Everyone watched the
Christmas dance show featuring members of Frankie’s Gym Club and
street dance group Ikonic Angels performing tap, street and
gymnastic routines.
Beechdale, their contractors Morrison and the
Beeches Day Nursery each manned a stall, but most of the fun at the
Lifelong Learning Centre was organised by the customers. They
joined in by organising a tombola, a guess the cake weight lottery,
a raffle and refreshments.
Aaron Lawrence, Youth Project Co-ordinator at
Frank F Harrison Community Association, who helped with the event
said: “The day was a great success as all members of the community
came together to enjoy the festive activities. The day had a real
festive and community spirit about it and it was a pleasure to be a
part of it.”
