Sophie joined Friendship in 2003 as Team
Leader in Home Support and was involved in the development of the
supporting people service for people with learning
difficulties.
As new challenges arose, Sophie was promoted
to Quality Manager in 2007 and was instrumental in leading the
Financial Inclusion programme for Friendship. She
undertook part-time studies, successfully gaining an MSc in
Management of Public Services at Birmingham University in 2009.
The re-structure of the housing team in
January 2011 saw Sophie promoted to Head of Customer Services &
Quality, where she leads a team of professionals dedicated to
getting it right first time, every time through excellent customer
service, communication, information and advice.
Sophie is also a member of Friendship’s senior
management team.
Born and brought up in Birmingham, Sophie is
an ambitious, intelligent individual, but has had to battle
dyslexia and a chronic hearing condition throughout her
life.
Prior to embarking on the career ladder in
social housing, Sophie explored the thespian route and in 1992
appeared in the best British Road Movie of the year ‘Soft Top, Hard
Shoulder’ taking the part of Nancy, the waitress in the Transport
Café. Also to her credit she gained a BTEC in
Performing Arts and a Communications degree at Coventry
University.
