Liz Booker

Name: Liz Booker
Job Title: Consortium Programme Officer
Department: Development
Company: Longhurst Group
|
One of Liz’s first jobs was working in housing
as both a legal and residential secretary. It was while working in
this job that Liz began to fully understand the importance of
deadlines, presentation and in particular, accuracy, which have
been crucial for her work with Longhurst Group. Looking to work
with a company where she could develop her career, Liz applied for
the Development Assistant job with Longhurst Group after seeing it
advertised in the local paper.
Liz has worked with Longhurst Group for 18
years and since joining she has progressed to Development
Secretary, PA to the Director of Development and Marketing,
Development Co-ordinator and to her present post as the first
Consortium Programme Officer at Longhurst Group.
As her current role was new when she started
it, Liz has had to put in place all the necessary processes and
systems in order to accurately manage the delivery of the
development programme for the Blue Skies Consortium and ensure that
Consortium members meet the targets set by their funding body, the
Homes and Communities Agency.
During her time with Longhurst Group, Liz’s
proudest moment was offering Prince Charles a cup of tea when he
attended an opening ceremony of the company’s development at
Doughty’s Mill in Lincoln. Aside from that she is very proud of her
son and even has a complimentary mention of her name in the
acknowledgements of a published 1989 French Dictionary of
Information Technology!
“I really love my job. Longhurst Group is a
great company to work for, investing in its staff and providing
opportunities to find and achieve your potential. I have huge
respect for its executive and management teams and board members in
the vision and direction that credits the company’s success today
as one of the top developers in the East Midlands.”
