Jody has been with the company since 2004 when
he began working in the repairs team having previously worked as a
section manager for a DIY store. He came to the job with a
lot of experience in face to face contact with the public which has
put him in excellent stead for his current role.
Having seen the job within the repairs team
advertised in the local paper and the great career and personal
development opportunities it offered, Jody decided to apply for the
role and has gained a number of academic qualifications that have
helped facilitate his job progression at Spire.
After he completed a NVQ Level 3 in Customer
Service, Jody was seconded to the technical team on a part time
basis to help with the improvement programme in 2006. Twelve months
later, the secondment was extended by a further 12 months until
2008 when Jody successfully applied for the job of ‘Trainee
Property Surveyor’.
Jody finds his job extremely rewarding - he
enjoys seeing the end result of improvement works and the positive
impact they have on the lives of customers. His proudest
professional achievement was achieving 100% tenant satisfaction at
each of the seven East Northants’ Sheltered schemes where he
project managed the kitchen and bathroom improvements - a fantastic
achievement.
He has now completed the 1st year
of the National Award in Construction Management and in 2010
completed and graduated from his two year Higher National
Certificate course in Construction Management, allowing him to drop
‘Trainee’ from his post. His role now includes project management
of improvement contracts, daily liaison with contractors and
tenants, budget management, reporting Key Performance Indicators,
checking programmes of work are on schedule and dealing with all
associated queries.
