why we provide a range of shared corporate services to avoid
duplication and deliver the best possible value for money.
As you would expect from a leading regional
housing group, we provide affordable homes for rent and sale. But
we are far more than a landlord and much of our work is focused on
caring for vulnerable people and supporting local communities
through a range of neighbourhood services.
In practice, this means our work has a massive
impact on the quality of life of thousands of people.
We invest in our 17,800 properties on an
annual basis to keep them in good condition for existing
residents so that, as a minimum, we meet the
Decent Homes
Standard. We access grants and borrow money to
build new affordable homes for everyone from first-time buyers and
families, to older people and others in need of support. We tackle
social problems and deprivation in the neighbourhoods where we
work. We help job-seekers by providing training and
apprenticeships. We develop innovative partnerships to combine the
strengths of different organisations that share the same aims. We
use practical policies to deal with complex challenges ranging from
hate crime to climate change.
