Homes to rent
As the map of our
area shows, Longhurst Group owns and manages more than
16,000 homes across a wide geographical area covering much of
central and eastern England.
Many of these are rented properties for
individuals, couples and families with general housing needs but we
also have a large number of homes for older people and others
needing extra help. These include sheltered housing, retirement
schemes, care homes, supported accommodation for disabled people
and flats for vulnerable teenagers.
Whatever their circumstances, people renting
from us can be confident they will have a landlord that cares about
them and where they live.
Between them, our members spend millions every
year on keeping homes in good condition and they employ highly
trained, professional staff and contractors to carry out all
repairs and
maintenance. They also provide full out-of-hours cover
for emergencies and regularly service all gas appliances to keep
people safe in their own homes. All of this means that we continue
to meet the national Decent Homes
Standard and achieve high levels of customer
satisfaction.
More than that, people can be confident that
our members will do everything they can to make their
neighbourhoods safe and pleasant places to live, whether they are
helping to tackle anti social behaviour or organising events to
bring together communities.
Right across the Group, we share the same
values and have a
range of common policies so that we are consistent in how we deal
with issues such as equality and diversity, data protection and
sustainability. You will also find that every member has an
exceptionally strong commitment to customer involvement and offers
advocacy and
advice to help people deal with problems such as
debt.
If you want to find out more about renting in
your area, please follow the links below to visit our members’
individual websites. They give plenty of guidance about applying
for a home and provide contact details if you want to get in
touch.
Friendship Care and Housing provides homes across the
Midlands in partnership with local councils, some offering choice
based lettings to give people more control about where they
live.
L&H
Homes has around 5,000 homes for rent in Lincolnshire,
Peterborough and the East Midlands. People can apply for these
directly or may need to join another housing register, depending on
where they live now. Choice-based lettings are also on offer.
Spire
Homes offers a range of general, special needs and
sheltered housing in East Northamptonshire, Rutland
and Wellingborough. The association welcomes direct
applications but in some areas, people will need to register to use
a home choice scheme or approach their local council
first.
If you are interested in shared ownership
instead of renting, please see our information about
homes to buy. You
can also look for homes to rent or buy on our
property search
website.
