A leading performer in housing and care
Longhurst Group unites a number of companies
that share the same values and work in a mutually
supportive way while retaining their own individual character and
identity.
Since our launch in 2001, the Group has grown
substantially and our
members now operate across much of the
Midlands and the East of England, as shown by the
map
of our area.
In our first decade we built a reputation
for excellence and innovation, and as our latest
business plan shows, we have ambitious plans to
take the Group to even greater heights.
With an annual turnover of over
£82 million, we already own or manage over 17,800 homes
in more than 40 local authority areas and provide services for an
estimated 50,000 people living in major cities, rural areas
and coastal towns throughout the Midlands.
We're one of the lead partners in the
Blue Skies
Consortium, which makes us one of the UK’s top 10
developers of new affordable housing across all tenures. This
is supported by a large, growing range
of care and
support services which now form a substantial
part of our business. We have also developed a range of shared
corporate
services that are available for the benefit of
external organisations as well as our member companies and
partners.
Our
corporate brochure provides a summary of our most
recent achievements. We also produce a business briefing,
InTune,
twice a year to keep partners informed about our latest news. You
can find other documents such as annual reports, financial
statements and previous briefings in our publications section. To see how
individual projects have made a difference to people’s lives,
please take a look at examples
of our work or our latest press
releases.
But you don’t need to just take our word that
Longhurst Group is a strong performer. We have plenty of
independent evidence to prove it.
Like all registered social housing providers,
we are governed by an independent regulator, the
Tenant Services
Authority, which sets and monitors demanding
standards. Its latest
regulatory judgement, delivered in May 2010, confirmed
that Longhurst Group remains viable and properly governed.
As a Group, we are accredited
Silver
Investors in People, an award which puts us in the top
3% of all Investor in People (IiP) companies. In his
report, IiP assessor Richard Tomes said: "People are very
proud to work for Longhurst because of its vision and values, as
well as the difference that they are able to make in people's lives
and the communities in which they live."

approach?
